  it is an older issue of penthouse, (83) and has an interview with the son of ron l. hubbard.

  wow! you can totally tell from the secondary interview with the president of scientology that at the time of printing, L. Ron Hubbard was dead. if you have to prove letters with carbon this and fingerprint that... come on!

  Just What Is The WT Up To Now?

  has anyone heard about what is going on inside the organization these days regarding those who claim to be "anointed" christians?

  i have had at least three different people now who live in different areas of the country tell me that the elders are systematically pushing out people who claim to have become anointed within the last few years.

  these would be younger ones who are now professing the heavenly rather than earthly hope.. i find this interesting for several reasons.

  the reason why most JW's became JW's is because of the insight the GB had on scripture and prophecy... now all the GB says is, "we do not know." "we can't say for sure." "that must be left to Jehovah." "this is a conscience matter." what kind of insight is that???

  Have they started using BADGES at the doors?

  i had dinner with a non-jw friend the other night and he said that two young jw men had paid him a visit.

  though they did not verbally identify themselves as jws, they apparently wore tags (the kind they wear for conventions) that had their personal names and their organization in print.. now i don't recall us ever using tags for assemblies.

  and they couldn't have come from a dc since we've just had ours in august (?).

  as ex-mormon, my exposure to a different version of the first vision story which was quite different from the offical first vision was my beginning way out of mormonism.

  what about you ex-jw's?

  what, in terms of wt doctrine, made you realize that the wt is a fraud?.

  doctrine+hypocracy+secrecy= UN cover-up. that's what started me looking into everything else and going to chapters to buy a bible NOT written by fred franz. then reading the bible with a clear, unbiased mind and realizing many of their theological ideals were unfounded.

  did anyone see the fabulous 'tribute to james taylor' ?

  i just watched in on public television - i am not sure if it was a 'replay' or not - but wow is all i can say.

  what a fabulous show - and what a contributer to the arts this man has been.. i loved the show and hope others here share my passion for his body of work.. jeff .

  Watchtower logo on side of kingdom hall

  my old kingdom hall has the watchtower logo built into the brick work on the side that faces the road - to me for a hall that is supposed to be dedicated to god, its a bit wrong to have a corporation logo on the side of it.

  maybe its there to show they and not the congregation own it???

  aren't all JW's apostate of another relgion, aka the religion they used to belong to?

  also, LOL to nosferatu's post. i would always get one roast beef and one sub (they switched the sub sauce from mayo to vinegrette at some point, which was fine by me)
